This index measures the performance of a hypothetical portfolio, assembled from the ten distinct sector sub-indices that make up the S&P 500. The allocation of each sub-index within the portfolio is not fixed but rather dynamically adjusted. Sector components that exceed the returns of the broader S&P 500 Total Return Index will see their proportional weighting increased, while those that underperform this benchmark will have their allocation reduced.
