This fund typically invests at least 80% of its total capital, which includes any funds borrowed for investment, in the equity shares of companies operating in Asian countries, with the explicit exclusion of Japanese firms. The fund defines an "Asian issuer" as any company that satisfies one or more of the following conditions: (1) it is legally established or conducts its primary business operations in an Asian nation; (2) its stock is principally listed on an Asian trading market; or (3) it derives 50% or more of its income or possesses 50% or more of its assets within one or more Asian countries.
